About us

STATEMENT OF BELIEFS

We at Holy Innocents School of the Northwest believe that Truth exists; that it is absolute; that it subsists in the mind of God the Creator of the universe; that it is our task, as a school, to pass what has been given to us, whole and entire, to our students, to fortify them to do the same, and to arm them with the tools to perhaps discover more.

WHO WE ARE

The main characteristics of the school are: thoroughly Catholic, academically advanced, and personalized.

Holy Innocents School of the Northwest is not under the direction of the Seattle Archdiocesan Board of Education and is not approved by the official structure of the Catholic Church. However, the Catholic religion permeates the entire school from the text books used for the various subjects to the reasons enjoined upon the students to discipline themselves, to the daily prayers, and ultimately to the goal of the school as a whole — to make evangelists in the mode expressedly desired by Pope St. John Paul II in so many of his letters, and to the documents of Vatican II on the role of the laity in The Church in the modern world.

The school is tiny (maximum of 40 students total) so that the teachers can get to know all of the students, the teachers can help one another with ideas and suggestions, and the entire curriculum over all twelve grades can be rigorously integrated.

The students who attend this school are usually quite happy. They work hard and learn an amazing amount of material. It is hoped that they will also turn out to be well-rounded ladies and gentlemen in the tradition of the Catholic Humanists St. Thomas More, St. John Fischer and Erasmus.
